What makes me happy 2.0

I wrote a post 2 years ago called 10 things that make me happy. A month ago, I read a blog post and it was from Bleuwater about what makes her happy. I thought I’d make a list of my own. Again.

Made on Canva
  • Sunny days
  • Spending time with my son
  • Romantic gestures
  • Music
  • Coffee
  • Dancing
  • Nature walks
  • Travel
  • Seeing my husband and son bonding
  • Meaningful friendships
  • Flowers
  • Yoga
  • Rain and lightening
  • Movies
  • Memes
  • Texting my friends
  • Making a sale
  • Writing
  • Reading
  • Being appreciated
  • Butterflies
  • Gifts
  • Cake
  • Money

There is more but that’s all that I could fit into this Gif I made. I’m good at noticing the details and appreciating the little things. The way a raindrop plops and drips and slides along a leaf or down a window pane. The way the sun shines through the clouds as they move, as if it’s playing peekaboo. I find Nature most inspiring.

I’m overwhelmed with all the projects I’m doing, I need to organize them and prioritize. There seems to be limited time and energy and working on my slow laptop is challenging. My husband currently has a fever for the 1st time since we got married so buying a new laptop is postponed until he gets better since he is the one taking me.

In the meantime, I’m trying to organize my scrambled brain. So far I wrote in pencil on paper what I’m working on regarding the blog, podcast and books. I unenrolled from all the courses I was taking on coursera and uninstalled the app. I’m even unsubscribing from some newsletters because going through my emails has become overwhelming and mentally exhausting.

Today I will remind myself of the things that make me happy and enjoy the little things. Too bad it’s too hot to take a walk in the park. I’ll focus on the smell and taste of my coffee, despite my migraines and physical pain. I’ll focus on the joy of creating a new design, the feeling of cool as the AC hits my skin in the limited hours we get electricity.

Takeaway message:

Get organized

Don’t overwhelm yourself

Focus on what makes you happy

  1. Sounds like a good idea to take a break from some things to cut down on overwhelm. I hope you’re able to get the new laptop soon.

    1. Thanks. I’m going to focus on the blog and my books only for now. The rest will still be there in a week.
