Let’s play: Never have I ever, blogger edition

Hello and welcome to my blog! I have this app called Never Have I Ever, and I play the kids version with my son. It’s fun. I know there’s a book by the name and a Netflix series as well. I have no idea what they’re about. I know that this game is very common among friends groups. It’s even famous on TikTok. I have found readers editions of the game on TikTok, but I couldn’t find a bloggers edition, so I decided to make one.

For those unfamiliar, Never Have I Ever consists of 10 questions and is played with more than one person. The person who runs out of fingers loses and the person with fingers left in the end wins. What does that mean? You raise 2 hands and for every question, if you HAVE, you put down a finger, if you HAVE NEVER, don’t do anything.

Never Have I Ever; Blogger Edition:

1. Published a post without revising it

I have. I usually revise a few times before posting, but sometimes when I’m in a hurry, I may publish 1st and then revise.

2. Published a post without pictures

I have. I usually at least have a featured image, but before 2020, I didn’t used to.

3. Stayed up all night writing a post

I have. I often have trouble sleeping, and sometimes an idea would pop into my head at midnight, and I would begin to type away.

4. Copy pasted a post entirely

I have never! That’s plagiarism. Don’t do it. Sometimes I research for my posts and I may copy paste some parts from Google, but never the entire post.

5. Went more than a week without posting

I don’t think I’ve ever gone longer than 3 days without posting. Maybe at the beginning of my blogging journey, but since 2020, I’ve been blogging at least twice a week.

6. Blogged on a topic just because it was trending

I have. Sometimes I would have nothing to talk about, so I search for trending topics. However, I usually miss trends entirely, like for example, 2 days ago was the anniversary of the August 4th explosion of Beirut, and I live in Lebanon. However, being preoccupied with being sick and not leaving the house at all, except for going to the park alone yesterday and avoiding everyone, I’m lucky if I know what day of the week it is, let alone the date. I didn’t even notice August 1st had passed until it was August 3rd.

7. Commented on another person’s blog just to promote myself

I have never, unless you count that one time Phoebe MD posted and told us to promote ourselves. But otherwise, I would never comment on another person’s blog just to promote myself.

8. Published a post with no links inside

I have done this so many times I’ve lost count. I often forget to add links to my shops and books, and links to other blog posts.

9. Pushed yourself to blog when you didn’t feel like it

Kind of like what I’m doing now? I have a headache and I’m dizzy and I want to sleep I didn’t even eat yet, but I started this blog post 2 days ago and I will finish it!

10. I’m out of ideas but there have to be 10 questions, so adding a random number to a list just so the list can be 5 items or 10 items

Well, I just did it for the 1st time.

My result is: 7 I have and 3 I have never, so I have 3 fingers left.

How about you? Which of these blogging things have you done? And which have you never done?

Bonus Random Never Have I Ever Questions I’ve tried on the app:

  1. A good party game and ice breaker, btw. What a fun way to retrospect some of one’s blogging. Never have I ever stayed up all night, plagiarized, blogged to a trend, published a post without links. As for the bonus, I’ve lied about my age, considered plastic surgery, cleaned by shoving things in the closet (the older I get, the less I care), but I’ve never swum with dolphins (it’s on my list), or dropped my phone in the toilet.

  3. I hope no one’s here’s ever said yes to #4 😣. I have scrapers steal my content all the time, and I know imitation is NOT the sincerest form of flattery.

  6. This is such a creative and fun idea! Sometimes I write out my posts on google docs and then copy-paste the entire post – does that count? I mean, I still wrote it, but like… not on WordPress.
